The Troy Fire Protection District prides it’s self on the community service it has been providing for a long time. From such things as Operation Prom where the 11 and 12 grade Triad High School student become witnesses to a mock traffic accident that is centered on drunk driving. The scenario established involves the Triad chapter of SAAD, Troy Police Department, Madison County Sheriff, and Coroner office, and Laughlin’s Ambulance Service and walks through each facet and consequences of drinking and driving.
We enjoy opening our doors and provide a station tours, or packing up our equipment and go out in the community visiting such places as a classroom in the Triad school system or an assisted living facility to talk about fire safety. Annually the department conducts an open house giving the communities a chance to stop by and walk around the station getting an up close and personal view of the equipment on hand, or just sitting and talking with the firefighters. During open house, we also invite other agency to come in and talk to the community or provide a service such as with the Troy Police Department Explores who will talk about safety issues and provide fingerprints and photo identification cards for children.
Department members enjoy going to local daycare centers to talks with the kids about fire safety, or teach CPR classes to their employees. We enjoy a close working relationship with the community of Troy and its surrounding neighbors and are always open to any community event or activity. If you have an up and coming event or activity and would like to see if the fire department could participate give us a contact us. http://firecompanies.com/design/Troy/html/contact-us.php
