Description:
The Troy Fire Protection District is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Part Time Paramedic or EMT. This position is responsible for providing high quality prehospital advanced life support that includes patient evaluation, treatment and stabilization to the injured or ill patient. A Paramedic has a comprehensive knowledge base and can assess and provide care for a broad range of medical emergencies as approved by the local EMS Medical Director within the scope of practice of the Anderson Hospital EMS System and the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Essential Duties:
Assist with vehicle and equipment maintenance, station maintenance, public education, public relations, public health safety programs, emergency medical service training, rescue, extrication, demonstrations, instructing and any other activity that would benefit the Troy Fire Protection District and the general public.

Current BLS, ACLS, ITLS, PEPP or PALS Certifications

Prospective candidates that meet the minimum requirements for testing will proceed to a practical and written examination as well as an oral interview. Candidates that have successfully passed these requirements will be subject to a background investigation, drug test and physical examination.
